NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2000--INNODATA CORPORATION (NASDAQ: INOD), a leading provider of digital content outsourcing services, will sponsor an XML seminar by Innodata Director Charles F. Goldfarb, inventor of the technology, entitled "Demystifying XML: Why It Works and Where the Money Is." The seminar, which will take place Thursday, December 14, 2000, from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at the Harvard Club of New York City, is open to financial and technology analysts, stock market professionals, qualified members of the press, and Innodata clients. Interested persons may RSVP by email at seminars@inod.com or by calling 201-488-1200. Participants will receive a complimentary copy of Goldfarb's top-selling "XML Handbook" (Prentice-Hall, November 2000).
XML (short for Extensible Markup Language) is now driving a new Internet content publishing and e-commerce revolution. Microsoft has embraced XML as the primary technology behind its .net strategy, and IBM, Oracle, Sun, Intel, Adobe (and hundreds of others) are similarly putting XML at the core of their current and future business plans.
Dr. Goldfarb's seminar will assist financial and industry analysts and members of the press in defining the promise of XML - what it is, and what it is destined to become - so that leading opinion makers can best assess the dynamically emerging XML space.
The Harvard Club of New York City is located at 27 West 44th Street, New York, New York. The seminar will be held in the Club's Mahogany Room.
Dr. Charles F. Goldfarb invented SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language) in 1974 and later led the team that developed it into the International Standard (ISO 8879) on which the World Wide Web's HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and XML (Extensible Markup Language) are based. He has been Editor of the SGML International Standard for 20 years, and is a consultant to developers of SGML and XML applications and products. He has published widely on SGML and XML and has been profiled in "Forbes", "Web Techniques", "Red Herring" and other publications. He joined Innodata as a Director November 14, 2000.
